I gave her my heart...

My cure for personal happiness meanders around strawberry skydives and Jim Dale. Because of this it surprises me when my mood slips so far foul even a cute boy with dinner ready couldn't cheer me up when I got home yesterday. No, I needed a little something extra. I needed an escape.

That's right. I needed Lloyd.

I can go on about the merits of Lloyd Dobler, but I won't. Just know that after I finished watching Say Anything last night, the good mood followed me into today. I think it had help from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros "Home". Could you imagine if Cameron Crowe used this song instead of "In Your Eyes"? Would it have been a completely different movie?

I dunno. I think Peter's song is irrevocably tied to that scene in my mind.

I have to admit there was a certain amount of squeeing in my manly heart when he pulled out the boom-box serenade. It's just...

Well, it was quintessential 80's romantic folderal magic that you just don't see all that often these days.

I had this memorized once:

"I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that."

I think I'll memorize it again.

And I like what you've done with the place.
